PRIMARY SCHOOL
' For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. ' - Philippians 4:13

Welcome to Bassonia Adventist Primary School
Bassonia Adventist School is a kind, friendly and caring private school with a Christian ethos. We are situated in Mulbarton, south of Johannesburg, Gauteng.
What first strikes visitors to our school is a sense of welcome, a safe family and community-oriented environment. The atmosphere is vibrant, and learning is embraced as an explorative journey.
The school’s curriculum is CAPS aligned and enriched by the Bible-study programmes of the Seventh-day Adventist church. Our staff are committed and are highly involved with every aspect of the learners' lives at School. At the heart of Adventist education is a belief that children achieve true growth when their mental, physical and spiritual needs are met. With a strong focus on Seventh Day Adventist Christian ethos and family as well as a holistic approach to educating the individual, Bassonia Adventist School provides a balance between the academic, physical and cultural fields.
The values of our School are founded on the principle, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Phil 4:13 (King James Version)

Our Mission
-
To provide a high level and quality education to foundation phase and primary school children
-
To educate holistically: the head, heart and hand – the head to know and understand, the heart to love and feel and the hand to do – through a life dedicated to service
-
To integrate faith and learning through a Christian worldview
-
To develop learners to their full potential as they form their identity in Christ
-
To provide a formative and transformative learning experience to the learner where Christian character may be rightly formed (not merely informative education that teaches facts without context)
From Ellen White in her book ‘Education’ 17.2
Our Vision
-
To see our learners develop into the strong Christian leaders we need for tomorrow – to be leaders and not merely followers; to be thinkers rather than reflectors of other men’s thoughts (Ellen White, Education 17.2).
-
To insist on a high-performance culture within the school where both teachers and learners strive for excellence.
-
To see our learners willing and able to serve the community in which they live thus creating a value chain as they attract (through their Christian character and service) many more into the church.
-
To develop learners into young men and women who have high moral and social values, and who have a firm foundation of faith in Christ as they are nurtured and grown in this “village”
-
To develop problem-solving skills and be able to think beyond the obvious
